Maybe the fact that you maintain a website called THE SAN FRANCISCO HISTORY EXPERIENCE?

Almost 10,000 results, and not a single one (from a cursory glance, at least) about me! They're all about some computer programmer in Berkley.

I'm fine with this.

CharlieNo4, Friday, 21 September 2007 12:26 (eighteen years ago)

I keep getting mail for a guy who went Vanderbilt. They're always these legitimate vacation/reunion things that almost tempt me to sign up.

I've googled him, and it's weird that I'm sort of stalking him, but it's not my fault that he has my name.

Pleasant Plains, Friday, 21 September 2007 15:33 (eighteen years ago)

most of the results are for some guy who's really into long distance horse racing. most of the results that are actually me are for a video i took of my friend andy playing drums for neil hagerty that he posted somewhere and it got cloned to every video site on the internet. then there's my website, a dubster.com parking spots thing and some work stuff.

A couple of weeks ago, Amanda Palmer, the musician who became famous as one-half of the Dresden Dolls, logged on to her computer and did something we all do but are loath to admit: She typed her name into the search engine. She calls it ego surfing.
