i don't think you can do this. realaudio is a streaming format. what you probably can do, depending on the duplex of your audio card, is turn on a sound editor and press record while the realaudio track plays. it should record to the sound editor.

are you on a mac or a pc? you have to "record" it.

Used to be a program called Streambox VCR, before Real's lawyers put the kibosh on it. You can probably still find it on the filesharing network of your choice.

i believe there are winamp plugins to do it, but the thing is you have to have real player installed because that's the only way to get the decoder thingamajig on your computer so that the plugin will work (i think)

i recommend not doing ra ---> mp3. the sound quality will be horrendous. if you want to burn ra to a compact disc be sure to go straight to wav.

i am a pc user and i use streambox. it doesn't have too many options (you have to manually abort the program if you want just a chunk of a file converted, for example) but it's user-friendly and quick. no-frills, if you will.

oh it's actually called "streambox ripper" - it comes bundled with "streambox vcr" which is a streaming audio recorder.
