The last time you FREAKED THE HELL OUT listening to the radio

At work several months ago, when we finally and thankfully decided to turn it from the "lite" station to the "super '60s and '70s" station (though nonstop Neil Diamond is only a slight improvement on nonstop Disney movie songs), I heard a song I mistook for Creedence -- that Cali-country guitar plinking, then a drifting-down-the-Mississippi harmonica, and I'm all "wow, this must be some sort of Cosmo's Factory B-si--"

And then: "OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH GIRRRRRRRRRL... I'd be in trouble if you left me now..." Now that was a kick in the head. (The kind of kick that bruises your brain in a way that is pleasantly woozy and intoxicating, like a vodka shot.) Hearing that Chi-Lites song on a station that plays CCR twice-hourly is one hell of an ambush, and hearing it evolve during those four minutes from an echo of the typical Fogerty sound into one of the most lavish soul arrangements of the early '70s was almost like watching the ending of The Usual Suspects.

I don't recall, but I'm pretty sure there were ninjas nearby ...

what is 'that Chi-Lites song' called? I re-read your post a few times, but it seems to assume we've all heard (of) this marvellous song (I surely would love to, but I sadly can't figure out what song it is, no fair!)

"Oh Girl" :-)

And then, on the other hand, there's listening to one song, stupidly noticing for the first time how it's the same damn song as this other song, then realizing you're listening to the other song ...

"Cum On Feel the Noize" vs. "We're Not Gonna Take It"

About four months ago, we were sitting in my friend's garage, drunk off our shit on some stolen vodka from his parents. I was kind of upset for various reasons, cause I'm that kinda person when I drink, and then Hard To Explain came on the car radio, and I fucking lost it. I was like knocking shit over and yelling as loud as I could and dancing and just going mental - I could've sworn that I was hoping for it to come on just the minute before, but I was pretty smashed, maybe I made that up. In any event, when that drum opening started I sorta went Aaaaaauuuuggggghhhhh! and went nuts. Brilliant. Then it had to end.

I really freaked out when I heard "Ching Ching" by Ms Jade, Nelly Furtado, and Timbaland. Fuckin weird.

Not a song, but a radio show... on AM 1080 out of Connecticut, this dude comes on a couple days a week I think at like maybe midnight... talks about all sorts of space/science related stuff, but has these weird alien believers, conspiracy theorists who think the aliens are working w/ the governments, and those who tout the existance of a Planet X. Its truly fucked up, and the guys voice alone is enough to make anyone shit their daks if their stoned or just paranoid.
