Chromeo has virtually nothing to do with freestyle.

The Shirley record is OK, but the best (-known) track on it is "As We Lay," a creepily sparse ballad.

i'm not saying chromeo are freestyle, but they're trying to do an 80s electro & rnb thing. add that to a female pop singer and what do you have?
