I quite enjoy the random hare deye and riide pimmping threads and the reactions they engender

But maybe it's too cruel to be really good sport. Or is it?

Skottie, Friday, 30 April 2004 14:01 (twenty-two years ago)

I like it. It's like slapping a spaz.

hmmm (hmmm), Friday, 30 April 2004 14:03 (twenty-two years ago)

You've never really done that.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Friday, 30 April 2004 14:05 (twenty-two years ago)

I hit myself occasionally. That counts.

hmmm (hmmm), Friday, 30 April 2004 14:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I haven't noticed any today--a rare break in the action of the last few days. Are they being blocked or killed now? I mean, I would understand, but...

Skottie, Friday, 30 April 2004 14:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Maybe r!de p!mp!ng isn't cool anymore.

hmmm (hmmm), Friday, 30 April 2004 14:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes, fashion is notoriously fickle.

Skottie, Friday, 30 April 2004 14:12 (twenty-two years ago)

PARALLEL UNIVERSES are cool now.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 30 April 2004 14:13 (twenty-two years ago)

skottie somewhat otm, but lately, being confronted daily with the horrendous level of functional illiteracy in this country is kinda getting up in my craw.

g--ff (gcannon), Friday, 30 April 2004 14:16 (twenty-two years ago)

parallel universes are so 2 years ago.

hmmm (hmmm), Friday, 30 April 2004 14:18 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm sorry, g--ff. I'll use spell check from now on. ***hanging head sadly***

Skottie, Friday, 30 April 2004 14:19 (twenty-two years ago)

2 years ago? No way.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 30 April 2004 14:21 (twenty-two years ago)

I only saw the second half* and now I want to read a BOOK ABOUT IT!! The Big Bang was caused when two rippling membranes in the 11th dimension called BRANES banged into one another!! It's like string theory only bettah!! I didn't understand a word!!
*Horizon, BBC2, 14.2.02

I make this a little over 2 years ago.

hmmm (hmmm), Friday, 30 April 2004 14:23 (twenty-two years ago)

We had nothing but complaints about ryde pymping threads when they were happening, and now something has finally been done, there's complaints that we're not getting them? Some people! Humph!

Super-Kate (kate), Friday, 30 April 2004 14:26 (twenty-two years ago)

B..b...b..but not from me!!! But seriously, Kate, are they being blocked somehow? I was not aware.

Skottie, Friday, 30 April 2004 14:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Slightly off-topic but it has relevance. I Love Books was linked to an Italian website because of the Summarise a novel in 25 words thread. A few Italian posters thought all posts in all threads had a 25 word limit. Confusion reigned for a while.

Mikey G (Mikey G), Friday, 30 April 2004 14:31 (twenty-two years ago)

The threads in question are a proxy for, or a metaphor for the ILE immigration policy, in a roundabout way. It's an open forum, anyone can participate, as long as the society isn't changed in too obvious a way. Occasional anomalies can be tolerated, but when new populations arrive in (relatively) large numbers, it disturbs the discourse and is dealt with harshly. Maybe green cards could be issued via a lottery to random illiterate MTV-soaked teens!

Skottie, Friday, 30 April 2004 14:31 (twenty-two years ago)

But visa applicants have to demonstrate that they have marketable skillz or are rejoining family members.

Skottie, Friday, 30 April 2004 14:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh dear lord, here we go...

Super-Kate (kate), Friday, 30 April 2004 14:37 (twenty-two years ago)

(To my knowledge, nothing has been done. This doesn't mean a damn thing, though, because despite my lobbying I have not been made God.)

(PS Vote Dan For God 2004.)

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 30 April 2004 14:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Thanks Dan! Maybe pymping ones ride is indeed out of fashion!

Skottie, Friday, 30 April 2004 14:51 (twenty-two years ago)

I tried to lure them back with my bam thread but alas, no.

Ask For Samantha (thatgirl), Friday, 30 April 2004 15:20 (twenty-two years ago)

They're on to us, Sam!

Skottie, Friday, 30 April 2004 15:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I think I prefer the ryde pymping and hare diing to being a drug interaction forum.

MIXING: prozac, valium and methadone?

I saw a methadone user pull his tooth out this weekend. By mistake.
