Why is the Search Function all the way at the bottom of the page and why do folks get mad when people can't seem to find it?

And please, someone answer this by directing me to another thread.

If you register with ILM you can chose in the settings page to have a little Google/ILM search box appear at the top right of every page.

I've been trying to submit my massive soulseek post for about five minutes now. I might have broke the server.

Nick has the answer I'm looking for! Still it does seem that every time someone new uses this site they ask a question that doesn't appear on the main screen but has been asked 20 times before and someone jumps at them for asking the same dumb question without searching. I'm just saying, it's hard to find that function at first.

It seems silly to jump at them as it's inevitably going to happen again and again.

search in a better spot is not a bad idea

astroblaster (astroblaster), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 22:44 (twenty-one years ago)

why not just put the search on the page whether user is registered or not?

frankE (frankE), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 22:55 (twenty-one years ago)

WHY NOT JUST GIVE EVERYONE ONE MILLION DOLLARS

It seems silly to jump at them as it's inevitably going to happen again and again.

If it's somebody who I don't recognize/is a newer user, I will be kindly and note the search function calmly. If it is somebody who has been around for a while, I will not be quite so kind.

frankE (frankE), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 22:59 (twenty-one years ago)

ned i am very entertained when you are not so nice. but it happens so many times a day now that i fear maybe its not good for you to have to lock so many threads. im concerned for your wellbeing.

astroblaster (astroblaster), Wednesday, 9 June 2004 23:01 (twenty-one years ago)
